Privacy policy

Last updated November 1, 2026.

The short version

  • Tool input stays in your browser. Everything you paste or type into a tool is processed locally by JavaScript on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers or anyone else's.
  • We do not have user accounts. We only learn your email address if you write to us, for example to be notified about a product.
  • Our analytics are cookieless and only count page views and which tool buttons are used, in aggregate.
  • Ads (when shown) are served by Google AdSense. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before any ad cookies are used.

Tool input

The tools on OpsAtlas run entirely client-side. Input is held in your browser's memory while the page is open. Some tools mirror small inputs into the page address (the ?input= part of the URL) so you can bookmark or share a result; that data is compressed into the link itself and is only sent anywhere if you share the link. Clearing the tool or closing the tab removes it.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service, to understand which pages are useful. It records the page URL, referrer, browser type, device type and country derived from your IP address. It does not set cookies, does not use local storage, does not build profiles, and the IP address is not stored. Browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not counted.

To learn which tools are useful, we also count a few actions inside the tools: the first edit, and clicks on “Load sample”, “Copy”, “Download”, “Apply fix” and “Undo”. Each event contains only the tool's name and the action. What you type, paste, copy or download is never sent.

Advertising and cookies

The site is funded by advertising. Ads are provided by Google AdSense, which may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar technologies to show and measure ads and, with your consent, to personalise them.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visitingGoogle Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising ataboutads.infoor, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu.

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) before any ad cookies are set. Ads load only after you make a choice; if you decline, Google may show non-personalised or limited ads that do not rely on cookies for personalisation. You can change your choice at any time with the “Privacy choices” link in the footer.

In US states with privacy laws that give you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, the same consent platform offers that choice through the “Privacy choices” link. Your choice is stored in a cookie set by the consent platform.

Besides ads, the only thing stored on your device is your light/dark theme preference, saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

Affiliate links

Some articles contain affiliate links to products we find useful. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking a link takes you to the provider's site, whose own privacy policy applies.

Email

If you email us, including through a “Get notified” button on theProducts page, we use your address only to reply or to send the one notice you asked for. We do not add it to a mailing list, sell it or share it. Ask us at any time and we will delete it.

Children

The site is written for IT professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Hosting

The site is a set of static files hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect against abuse. SeeCloudflare's privacy policy.

Your rights

Apart from emails you send us, we do not collect personal data ourselves, so there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For ad-related data, use the “Privacy choices” link or Google's controls above. For any other question, email [email protected].
